Refereeing Overshadows FIghts at UFC 115.

Once again the referees are the talk of the MMA world...and the talk isn’t about their world-class skills.

Last night, at UFC 115 in Vancouver there was another rash of controversial decisions during the events undercard. In the night’s opening bout, welterweight Carlos Condit recorded a TKO victory over Rory MacDonald with seven seconds remaining in the last round. Up until the final seconds, MacDonald was ahead on all cards.

The stoppage was jeered by the Canadian fans, who were hoping to see British Columbia native Rory MacDonald earn a decision victory once the round ended. Instead, MacDonald was handed his first career loss.

Aside from the MacDonald debacle, Mac Danzig was also handed a disappointing defeat when referee Yves Lavigne mistakenly thought Danzig was unconscious while trapped in a Matt Wiman guillotine.

Yes, there were some exciting fights with Frankin knocking out the Iceman and CroCop submitting Pat Barry. Unfortunately the refereeing during UFC 115 overshadowed the fights.
