It seems like whenever two fighters enter the octagon for a UFC fight these days the chances of a major controversy occurring are about even odds. Last night at UFC 104 in LA, all the signs pointed to a decision victory for Mauricio "Shogun" Rua over the vaunted Lyoto Machida. After all, Rua had dominated the last 2 rounds. Some say he dominated the last three. By the fourth round, Machida looked like he had run into a wall and could barely keep his hands up to defend himself anymore.

If nothing else, this week’s episode of TUF will be remembered for setting two world records:

1.    The longest held triangle choke in MMA history
2.    The most amount of times the word “titties” was used in an hour-long show.

We’re just five short days away from UFC 104: Machida vs. Rua. While the main event is sure to provide plenty of fireworks there are also some great fights on the main card, starting with Cain Velasquez vs. Ben Rothwell. Velasquez was originally slated to square off against Shane Carwin with the winner moving on to face Brock Lesnar. However, the bout was called off and Carwin will instead face Lesnar at UFC 106. Expect Velasquez to come out PISSED! That fight should be something to behold.

We’re five weeks in to the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter and Team Rampage just can’t seem to get it together. Last night Team Rampage’s Wes Sims took on Team Rashad’s Justin Wren.

As a UFC veteran, Wes Sims was viewed by many as one of the early favorites to win the whole thing. He’s a big guy with great jiu-jitsu who fought the likes of Frank Mir, Kimo Leopoldo and Tim Sylvia. But once again Wren and Team Rashad pulled off a first round victory.

In the past couple of years much debate has been made over Mixed Martial Arts. For some it’s too bloody. Others want to see it get back to its no holds barred roots. Some say it’s bad for kids. Others say it’s the ultimate test of skill and bravery. One thing’s for sure: There certainly hasn’t been a shortage of opinions on the subject.

WEC 43 hasn’t even occurred yet and it’s already seen its share of controversy.

The main event was expected to be a bout for the lightweight belt between current champion Jamie Varner and challenger Donald Cerrone. This was to be a rematch of their WEC 38 bout, which ended in a controversial technical split decision after Varner was deemed medically unable to return to competition.

Last month we were lucky enough to have Nate Quarry join the BORN STRONGER Fight Team. It seems we're becoming quite the good luck charm for UFC fighters and WEC fighters.

Congrats to BORN STRONGER Fight Team member Ryan "The Real Deal" Ford on his victory at TFC 8-Salvation on September 18th. Ford submitted Markhaile Wedderburn via rear-naked-choke in 1:24 of the first round.

It was billed as the biggest fight in TUF history.

Kimbo Slice—the brawling YouTube legend vs. Roy “Big Country Nelson—the flabby, Burger King eating, former IFL champ.

But at the end of the night the fight was anything but extraordinary. Big Country had proven what many MMA experts had always known. Kimbo Slice is a one trick pony.
